5 Affirmations for Healthcare Providers

Since the start of the pandemic, healthcare providers around the world have been working to keep our communities safe, sometimes at the cost of their lives and well-being.

As a community of caregivers, we’ve been hit with endless obstacles to overcome. In the last two years, we’ve lost everything from patience to patients.

Many providers have left the field. Many are no longer with us. To say that the last two years have been difficult is a huge understatement.

Mental health for healthcare workers right now is crucial. Providing resources and support could make a huge difference in the daily lives of those we count on when times are tough.

Music therapists, like other providers have had to completely restructure how therapy is delivered.Music therapy is considered an essential health service, but many clients selected to receive therapy via Telehealth. Although this had been a challenging time, it has also led us to new opportunities for music listening and songwriting within the sessions. Clients have learned to use music as a tool for relaxation, virtual social integration, and so much more. Furthermore, advances in virtual technologies have given us resources to reach remote clients.

As we mark two years since the initial lockdown, I’d like to share some of my favorite affirmations. These are affirmations we shared on our social medias and can serve as reminders in difficult moments:

  1. Sometimes, the most productive thing I can do is rest.

  2. My best is good enough.

  3. It’s okay to be tired.

  4. I am making a difference.

  5. This is temporary.

Thank you for all you do.
