Mentorship/Supervision for Music Therapists

We are excited to now offer supervision and mentorship for board certified music therapists both in-person and virtually through Zoom.

From a person-centered perspective, we encourage you to bring your authentic, whole selves to supervision. We value honesty, empathy, and self-reflection. We feel that it is important to have open and constructive dialogues in order to facilitate a positive learning environment. We seek to meet the learning needs of therapists by meeting them where they are in their clinical journey and providing them with resources to develop their own clinical style. Similar to our clinical philosophy, we approach music therapy supervision from a holistic perspective, where the individual’s clinical work is directly impacted and influenced by all aspects of themselves including their mental health, support system, work environment, financial state, life experiences, and physical well-being.

  • We specialize in supervision for the following settings: (1) music therapy with clients of Hispanic/Latinx-e heritage, specifically clients of Mexican or Mexican-American heritage; (2) private practice mentorship; (3) neurodivergent adults; and (4) youth and adolescence in mental health settings; and (5) community wellness.

  • We believe in the power of music with our clients and we also incorporate the use of music into supervision using music-center technique and experiences. We also seek to provide resources for therapists at all stages of their clinical journeys including both music therapy literature and research from related health fields.

  • The rate for mentorship for board certified music therapists is $60 per hour.

  • Mentorship/supervision is currently provided by Marisa de Leon, MS, MT-BC.
