3 Ways to Share Music Therapy Infographics
In our community of the Rio Grande Valley, access to music therapy - or any specialized therapy - is very limited. One of the most effective methods we've used to advocate for our profession is creating and sharing fun music therapy infographics!
As we know, increasing awareness for the music therapy profession is an ongoing effort, and it something we all experience in our personal or professional lives at some point (probably even regularly).
We hope to eventually have a collection of informative resources that help answer frequently asked questions for all aspects of our field including definitions, goals, interventions, music, education, qualifications, and more!
Today, we're going to share three fun ways to use music therapy infographics and advocate for your program! These are approaches that have helped us over the last few years. Whether you're in private practice or working in a healthcare setting with other professionals, we hope that these tips will help increase awareness for the awesome work you're doing.
1) Share Infographics on Social Media
We also recommend that you find ways to translate infographics in other languages to increase access to information for community members whose first language is not English.
Here in South Texas, we place an emphasis on sharing infographics in Spanish.
2) Print Posters for Your Clinical Space
You can advocate anywhere, but why not advocate in your own waiting area or lobby? If you have the wall space, you can print your infographics at a local printing shop for clients or family members to see while they’re waiting.
Our lobby has two of our infographics on display: “Types of Interventions in Music Therapy” and “What Training Does a Music Therapist Have?”.
3) Distribute Free Bookmarks
